ARMEX

ARMEX Soluble Media is made by ARM & HAMMER, but this is not your mother's baking soda. ARMEX formulations contain uniform particle sizes from 70-275 microns, and are further differentiated by ingredients added for flowability, rinsabilty, and grease removal. The inherently soft crystalline structure makes it an ideal, mild abrasive. ARMEX crystals actually break down on impact with the substrate resulting in a gentle cleaning process.

Most formulas are effective for cleaning architectural stone and masonry type surfaces but can also be used on delicate substrates, hard woods and ornamental metals.

The equipment used utilizes either air or water for moving the media to the surface. The ACCUSTRIP SYSTEM manufactured by International Surface Preparation Corporation, Fresno, TX is the preferred air driven system and is used in conjunction with an air compressor. The ACCUSTRIP is extremely efficient with cleaning rates at over 10 square feet a minute and paint stripping rates of up to 3 square feet a minute.

The water delivery system, WADU, is manufactured by Black Diamond Products, San Antonio, TX. This simple attachment to any pressure washer operating between 2,000 and 4,000 psi offers the operator enhanced cleaning power up to 100% over water alone. ARMEX is totally benign greatly reducing worker safety and waste disposal concerns. Most importantly ARMEX can remove thick coatings of dirt and grime without any degradation to centuries old stone as illustrated in the cleaning of this 1710 structure in Ravena, Italy. Even softer substrates like wood can be restored as evidenced here in these before and after pictures of a condemned, mold infested sub-flooring section completely restored to like new condition, saving both the homeowner and the insurance company from extravagant expense.
