Cumberland Woodcraft Company specializes in wood products -- from architectural woodwork, Victorian millwork, and traditional designs and carvings to Art Deco and contemporary tables and entertainment centers. Many of the product lines are designed to "work" together for both interior and exterior design compatibility. Because the Victorian patterns are custom crafted by skilled artisans, unlimited quantities are available, unlike most artifacts which are usually limited in quantity. Cumberland Woodcraft also has the skill and capability to replicate original patterns and carvings or to create custom products to the artist's specifications. An exclusive manufacturing process combines machine work with painstaking hand-carving and finishing to create an heirloom-quality finished piece. The standard line is made from selected premium-grade hardwoods, all solid wood that's been carefully kiln-dried. Oak or poplar is usually used, but other hardwoods are available by special request. Pine (and other softwoods) are not used because they tend to split or splinter. The extensive line includes a wide variety of products for both interior and exterior use in homes and commercial buildings. For interior use, the company offers brackets, grillework, fretwork, corbels, capitals and carved capitals, medallions, balustrades and rails, hardwood mantels, carved signs, cornices, wainscoting, panels, ceiling treatments and wall coverings in the turn-of-the century tradition. Also available is polyurethane millwork: brackets, corbels, cornice mouldings, chair rails, panel mouldings, ceiling medallions, niches, columns, and pilasters. For exterior use, Cumberland Woodcraft offers brackets, turnings and posts, double treatments, balustrades and rails, gazebos and screen and screen/storm door combinations in Victorian designs, all from solid hardwoods. Also available in durable polyethylene plastic are brackets and corbels, a line of Adirondack lawn furniture, and modern or Victorian porch swings. Bars, back bars, vanities, and entertainment centers are also available on a standard or custom basis.
