PRODUCTS: Fences, Railings, Gates, Light Poles, Site Furnishings, Building Facades, Landscape Amenities, Ornamental Staircases in Cast Iron, Wrought Iron, Bronze, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum. Our services consist of design assistance and review, site evaluation, historical restoration and consultation, painted and coated finishes, prototype design and fabrication, complete fabrication and finishing facility, field restoration and repair. We played a crucial role in the historic restoration of nearly one mile of wrought-iron fence and gates enclosing Harvard Yard at Harvard University. As the 100-year-old fence was dismantled, we painstakingly inspected each component to determine the necessary repairs. Many replacement components were hand-forged in our blacksmith shop using the same techniques employed a century ago. The work has been the subject of dozens of newspaper, magazine, and historic journal articles and remains one of the most significant fence and gate restorations accomplished in the Northeast. Another finished project was the restoration of a cast-iron facade: Shepard's Building in Providence, R.I. We completely restored this 19th-century building and replaced all the cracked/damaged components on its cast-iron facade. Besides attracting publicity and winning awards, this work truly revitalized a handsome historic structure. Website: www.deangelisiron.com
