Herwig Lighting was established in 1908, under the name Herwig Art Shades & Lamp Company, and was one of the pioneers in the introduction of indoor and outdoor lighting equipment. Herwig is still operated by members of the founder's family. With the experience gained through our long history of continuous operation, Herwig Lighting is well qualified to meet the design, engineering, and manufacturing requirements of both the specifying professional and the discriminating building owner. From our in-plant, non-ferrous foundry to final machining and assembly operations, skilled craftsmen provide the quality lighting products that you require.

Scale drawings and samples are generally available. Herwig Lighting remains one of the few manufacturers that will ship a sample fixture at no charge except for freight. Naturally we do bill for unreturned or damaged fixtures. It has not been uncommon for us to receive an order for the replacement or illumination conversion of a lantern which we manufactured eight decades ago. We believe this fact says a great deal about the quality of Herwig lanterns and posts, and our established level of customer satisfaction. That is how our business was built!

Every Standard Herwig Lantern and Post is custom made to our exacting standards of time-proven craftsmanship or to meet the precise requirements of our customers' specifications. Most Standard Lanterns and Posts were once a special product, manufactured for a particular project. When a design is manufactured, it is added to Herwig's extensive product line as a Standard lighting fixture, available on order.
