From one room cabins and lean-to's to grand estate rooms and hotels, our team works with clients and their architects to design, raise and enclose structures that are personal, functional and beautiful. To ensure the integrity of the design, we prefer to be involved from design concept, providing structural drawings for the timber frame. We can also act as consultants to the General Contractor during construction.

Our design and production facilities are in one location, allowing ease of timely and precise communication between the architect, our in-house designers and the timber framers in the shop. Each timber is measured, cut, planed and fitted in our shop by the same team that will raise and finish the frame at the site.

Working with Red and White Oak, Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Pine and other species upon request, we can create dramatic light-filled rooms that glow with the warm character of wood. Incorporating a timber-framed great room or entryway into a conventionally framed building provides a dramatic architectural statement while containing costs. These hybrid systems offer great design flexibility. Hugh Lofting Timber Framing can apply an insulated stress-skin panel system to the exterior of the frame to provide a high R-value and a weather tight seal, leaving the beauty and warmth of the wood frame exposed.
