Sarah Rowe has been a carver of architectural wood ornamentation for over twenty years. Individuals, corporations, churches, and museums have purchased her carvings. In 1989 she was paneled by the Georgia Council for the Arts, and accepted into their Artists in Residence Education Program. The paneling process combined a rigorous examination of her work with personal interviews conducted by a panel of selected artists and arts professionals. She was certified in both Fine Arts and Fine Crafts, a unique honor.

Her technique is a high sculptural relief not usually found in relief carvings (see mahogany fireplace surround detail, at right). In some designs she achieves this sculptural relief by layering carving over carving. Her style reaches from historic acanthus designs to contemporary wildlife, floral, and figurative designs. She works closely with her clients to produce carvings for their particular site that reflect their personal interests. Her work combines fine art with fine craft, resulting in architectural carvings that are beautiful, functional, and enduring.
