If you have experienced authentic period wall paper, you can tell the difference. To reproduce these historic wallpaper, we believe it is necessary to reproduce the process by which it was produced. At right, the 1780 Arabesque Pigeons. Taken from the collection of Old Sturbridge Village, this paper originally hung in the Lazarus LeBaron House in Sutton, Mass. It dates from the mid 1790's and is the early American take on the famous French Arabesques papers of Reveillion. Probably printed in Boston, it echoes the famous French "Deux Pigeons" pattern. It is offered in its original neo-classical colourway of grey ground with white, black and orange printing. We also offer it on a light blue ground, a light yellow ochre ground and a green verditer ground, all of which are typical of papers produced in this era in New England.

Our work is based on exhaustive research, and many of the most famous historical preservation institutions in the United States, Britain and France are in close contact with us. We license patterns from many archives including Colonial Williamsburg, The Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, Old Sturbridge Village and the New York State Historical Association. Each order is produced individually using the traditional, labor-intensive methods favored by a very small handful of artisans. Therefore, some lead time is required. This philosophy of production is our assurance that we can maintain a high level of quality and consistency in our papers.
