Robert Lichtman has been designing and creating hand-blown art glass for over twenty years. His work has shown in fine art galleries nationally and has received award winning recognition at juried craft shows in New York and throughout New England. Inspired by early American glass, he has developed a line of restoration quality Bullseye Window Glass panes to compliment the finely crafted millwork on doors and windows of many unique American homes. Mr. Lichtman brings his vision of early American glass to every step of the window-making process: from raw, hot concentrated glass on the blowpipe; to the gathering of clear molten glass from the furnace; to the drawing out of the glass, as the color infused into the glass spreads to a full, rounded form. Mr. Lichtman brings his artistic talent and attention to detail to bear on every aspect of the process. As the glass is being worked, each pane is flame polished to eliminate sharp edges at the pontil. After annealing, the cut edge is ground on a diamond wheel to facilitate an ideal edge for glazing and installation. Form and function are unified in each piece, and each must meet Mr. Lichtman's exacting standards for quality and artistry.
