Our 3/4" solid brass mounting post, and 7/16" stainless spindle are machined so that they will never come apart. Our weathervanes are also built using heavy-walled (0.065) brass tubing within the weathervane; the best quality in the business. Given the outdoor conditions that weathervanes are exposed to, we take nothing for granted. Our construction method is not only of the highest quality, but the safest and the best in the industry and guarantees that your weathervane will last for many generations to cherish and enjoy. Because quality is what SkyArt Weathervanes are known for we stand behind every custom built weathervane with a lifetime warranty. Artist L.M. Rob of Connecticut makes colorful, custom-made weather vanes that look like they should be hanging in a museum, not perched on a roof. Each fanciful, hand-forged weather vane is raised from a flat sheet of copper or brass and hammered to shape. For free, SkyArt Studio prepares a customized proposal for customers, including a rendering of the image and its design specifications. Each SkyArt weathervane is expertly buffed to remove surface scratches created during the building process. All edges are then machine-softened. Finally, the entire weathervane is professionally polished to a high-gloss luster. For clients who prefer their weathervane to keep its copper color, character, and shine, we offer a professional lacquering service in either a stain or high-gloss finish. Another feature of SkyArt weathervanes is our INSIDE/OUT soldering technique. Oftentimes when adding volume to a weathervane it is necessary to build-in additional copper to render a fuller body appearance. Our technique leaves a clean seam, free of exposed excess solder which makes for a more appealing appearance for both indoor and outdoor display. Full Service Repair If your vane is in need of repair, we're happy to be of service. We also buy older weathervanes, directionals, old weathervane catalogs, anything the wind blows our way.
