Silver Hill Atelier is a studio of fine artists and craftspeople dedicated to creating unique artworks and high end faux finishes for the home. It was founded in 1995 by Fay Zinger and Norvel Hermanovski as an outgrowth of their mural and decorative painting company, Modeworks, Inc. Modeworks, their commercial art studio, based in New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood, was started from a contract that had Fay and Norvel and a staff of artists painting literally thousands of murals and decorative interiors for the Limited’s Express Stores. From these auspicious beginnings, they grew to be the go to company for designers and clients who wanted to create memorable artistic environments; clients like Disney, Prada, MTV, The Cheesecake Factory, Loews Theaters, Planet Hollywood, and Sony Stores, amongst others. Enjoying the fruits of their success in the commercial world, Fay and Norvel moved to Ridgefield, Connecticut
and where they began to sense a growing desire amongst their neighbors and other homeowners for the
high quality custom hand-painted murals and finishes they had been successfully providing to commercial clients since 1979. Most importantly, all of the artworks and finishes produced by Silver Hill Atelier are created by hand. We work with the hand, eye, mind, and brush. This approach brings a warmth and comfort to any home, but particularly contemporary homes that sometimes can seem cold or sterile in their minimalist design. And for Fay and Norvel and the artists of Silver Hill Atelier, that's what their work is about, turning houses, no matter the size or style, into homes, places of warmth, comfort, and pride.
