Vixen Hill

Engineered for simple assembly on a masonry surface, our large scale Gazebos and Pavilions go together quickly and in the same way as our smaller Gazebos and GardenHouses. Structural members increase in size to accommodate clear-span roof systems up to 30 feet in diameter.

All Vixen Hill Pavilions arrive at the job site ready to assemble. The four standard Pavilions (sizes 21, 24, 27 and 30 feet) generally assemble in less than 60 man hours. They can be purchased without the floor system for slab mounting. Two-tier and Three-tier roofs are available in all model sizes. We provide foundation blueprints with supporting engineering specifications, making our installed cost predictable and installation consistent with expectations.

Victorian or Queen Anne rails and frets combine with a single or two-tiered roof. All modular parts are prefabricated of kiln-dried Western Red Cedar and shipped to you by common carrier. They are designed for assembly in an afternoon by the non-carpenter. Modules can be easily changed or replaced should they become damaged. If you design, build or restore the finest custom homes or historic structures with genuine concern for quality and performance, then your only choice for exterior shutters is Vixen Hill.

We use only clear, kiln-dried old-growth Red Cedar from the Western Canadian mountain forest. All fixed joints are deep mortise and tenon; the tenons are secured with solid teak through-pegs. Each shutter is meticulously inspected before shipment. The extremely tight grain and smooth finish of clear Western Red Cedar requires no additional primer or preparation. We recommend that shutters be stained, rather than painted. The stain becomes part of the wood fiber and will not peel or flake off.
