W.F. Norman Corp.

The W.F. Norman Corporation occupies the same building that it moved into at the turn of the century, and still makes many of the products it started with. Using 88-year-old dies, the W.F. Norman Corporation is once again producing metal plates for ceilings and wall coverings. Their growing popularity stems not only from nostalgia but from their beauty, permanence, and economy.

The fullness of the Hi-Art® line -- including center plates, corner plates, border plates, cornice and filler plates -- permits classic designs to be produced, proportioned for an exact fit. The plates can be finished to complement any room. They can be clear coated for a bright-metal finish, or painted any color. For something more dramatic, the panels can be made of solid brass or copper.

This pressed-metal offering has nearly 140 individual items consisting of over 60 different patterns. In addition to field patterns, cornices, molding, fillers, and frieze, there are centers, borders, and wainscoting. Hundreds of different designs, properly proportioned for any size or shape room, may be created. Styles include Greek, Colonial, Victorian, Empire, Gothic, Oriental, and Art Deco.

Installation is simple enough for "do-it-yourself" skills. Panels are 2 ft. by 4 ft. in size or smaller and lightweight enough that one person can handle them. Mitres for cornices, and ells, tees, and crosses for moldings are available, eliminating the difficult job of cutting and fitting corners. Nail buttons have pre-punched holes.

Designers find Norman metal ceilings and walls very versatile. They are ideal for the "nostalgic" look and blend with "contemporary" surroundings, as well.

In addition to being fireproof, permanent, and ideal for covering cracked plaster, the Hi-Art® line gives your ceilings and walls that very special look.
